News from the week...

What a fun time we have had this week. We have continued to find out about plants  by having a perfumery in our tuff tray! The children loved being scientists and creating their own scents.

We also loved making apple crumble with the apples from our orchard. We made one each and they tasted yummy!

Next week our story is...

Sometimes I Like to Curl up in a Ball by Vicky Churchill. You can read along with this video to help you get to know the story.

Week Beginning 21.9.20...

We have had a great week reading and writing about the story 'Don't Forget the Bacon'. We have been being shopkeepers in our role play shop and have been writing our own shopping lists.

We have also been collecting apples from our orchard. We will use the apples to make prints with, to eat and to make some apple crumble.

George and James brought in books from home for us to share at story time.

Well done to all those children who have read at home this week, we love celebrating your reading achievements each day.

Things to remember...

Please remember to that Year 1 come to school in PE kit on Monday.

Please remember to read as often as possible and to record home reading in Monkey Diaries.

Our story next week is...

Our First Week in Year 1

We have had a fabulous first few days in Year 1. The children are getting used to their new classroom and having a super time. They are showing how independent they can be when using our resources and tidying them away when they have finished.

We have used our new wooden equipment to make towers and buildings and have been having fun in our Florist Shop.

We have planted new plants in our garden area and have also put bulbs in ready to watch them grow in the Spring.

Creative Sketchbook: The Bookshelf: Old Bear by Jane Hissey

After we read the story of Old Bear, we made parachutes for our toys.

  News for next week:

Please remember to send in reading books every day. The children are heard read in school by our adults and reading books will be changed regularly.

Monday is our PE day. Remember to come into school wearing your PE.

Next week our story is called Don't Forget the Bacon by Pat Hutchins.

If would like to talk about it at home, click on the link to listen to the story with your child.
