Hello and welcome to Year 5!
Mrs Preece - Class Teacher and Junior Phase Manager
Miss Exley - Teaching Assistant
Mrs Evans - Teaching Assistant
Year 5 is a class of 31 happy and friendly young people. Mrs Preece is the class teacher and through the week we are lucky to be supported by TAs Miss Exley, Mrs Morgan and Mrs Evans. We are a competitive bunch and we love a challenge, whether it be in a Maths lesson, on the sports field or during an Art session. We are a friendly class and welcome anyone into our classroom to have a look around or to see what we are learning about. We have lots of events planned throughout the coming year for our grown-ups to come into school and share our learning with us. We hope to see you soon!
Reading books and reading records should go between home and school each day. Although sometimes it is difficult to find a time, reading with your child is so beneficial and even just a couple of minutes a day can make a big difference. When you read with your child at home please sign their reading record.
We love graffiti spelling and have books that we practise in. These go home every day and should be used regularly. Our weekly test scores are always recorded in our graffiti book so people at home can see how we are getting on.
Our PE day varies (depending on the weather) so it is important that PE kits are in school every day. Children are reminded to take them home on a Friday for washing.
If you have any questions at all or need to get in touch with Mrs Preece, please arrange an appointment via the school office, pop in and see her or contact her via email.
