Welcome
Kingstone is a wonderful school. Our children are fantastic. They were described by OfSTED in 2007 as follows: “Pupils speak confidently about their achievements and are proud of their school. They are caring and attentive towards each other and respect the adults they work with. They take part in a wide range of activities in the community. The pupils enjoy coming to school, behave very well and make an impressive contribution to the school community.” We have a great team of staff who work tirelessly to support the children, both during and beyond the school day. A wide range of extra curricular activities, from Art to Music, sport to Chess, are very well attended by our children. Our parents are very supportive and positive about the school, as shown in our recent Parent Survey and by one quote included in the OfSTED report, which sums up their views: ‘Our school has a warm and happy environment and all the staff have gone beyond the call of duty to ensure my children are happy here’. And our governors are becoming increasingly active too, in demonstrating their support for the school.
We like to think of ourselves as an ICAN school. Our 4 words, that sum up what we stand for and what we want our school to be are: Inspiration, Community Centred, Aspirational, Nurturing. These words inform decisions we make, activities we do and the direction the school takes. It is why our curriculum was described by OfSTED as good. Staff plan learning opportunities for children that motivate and inspire them. We are also a Values school. The values that we focus on with the children support their personal development and contributed greatly to the impression OfSTED gained of us.
Raising standards is also what we are about and always will be. This web site is part of that process. I hope you enjoy looking at the site and getting a flavour of life in our school. Staff and children have worked extremely hard to get it up and running and to keep it fresh. We are proud of our school and want to share the great achievements that happen here as widely as possible.
Enjoy the site.
