E- Safety
At K&T we use technology and the Internet wherever we can to enhance children's learning and make the most of the fantastic resources available. ICT is a major part of all our work across the currciulum, and children are benefitting greatly from it.
However, we are also aware of the dangers of the Internet and are careful to educate the children in staying safe by staying SMART:
Stay safe - keep your personal information private. Have fun in chatrooms, use message boards and networking sites but don't give away any personal information that identifies you to strangers.
Meeting up can be dangerous. Never meet online friends. If you really have to, make sure you take a trusted adult with you.
Accessing emails can be dangerous. Don't open mail from unknown sources as they could contain offensive messages or viruses that can harm your computer.
Reliable information? Remember someone you meet online may not be telling the truth. Don't always trust what you read on the web.
Tell a trusted adult if there is anything online that worries you.
