Year 6

Welcome to the Year 6 class blog!

Year 6 have started the term so well and have enjoyed discussing the text 'The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse.' We have discussed the 4 themes of:

Love, Bravery, Friendship and Kindness.

They listened to the story and took away one quote they thought summed up their chosen quality and created an amazing piece of art to represent this. Have a look at our photos below:

We have also been thinking about playing together at break time and have had fun creating games using the parachute. Have a look at us in action:

In addition, we have been exploring different ways we can keep music going in Year 6 . We have started to learn songs in sign and singing in the open air. Check out our video below:

We are also developing our listening skills by tapping out the rhyme and working out what song it is. We are currently working on a video library to share these with you.

Our Stars of the Week

Soon you will be top of the school: a position of great responsibility and pride! Year 6 is an amazing year, jam-packed with exciting learning experiences and this is where we can keep a record of those achievements and events. It is also a great place to stay connected with friends and have sneak peaks of things to come. Make sure you regularly check back here and if you want something featured on the blog, please email it to me.

My first challenge to you is a reading one: taking a photo of you reading your favourite book in your favourite place. These will be added to the blog as they are sent in. I will also be posting hints of our first class reading book for you to guess over the summer - I wonder who will guess it right?

We have so much look forward to and I can't wait for you to fill our classroom with fun and laughter!

Have a great summer and I’ll see you soon!

It was a Waterstones Book of the Year in 2019

                                                   Clue 2

It is filled with inspirational messages but is known for it's illustrations

                                                   Clue 3

It is about four friends who share a deep, unshakable bond.

Where we love to read challenge

Joseph - What a great book!! I also love the Dr. Seuss books! Have you tried 'All the places you'll go?' I highly recommend it!

Joe - Looks like you're enjoying the sunshine and what a great reading spot!!! I've never read Beast by David Walliams so you'll have to tell me all about it!

Ben - You look so relaxed! In bed is a great place to enjoy a good book and you have picked an amazing one. In fact, Wonder is one of my favourite books so I can't wait to chat about it with you!
