Year 3
Welcome to Year 3!
There are 24 hard working and inquisitive children in Year 3 who are taught by Miss Gillespie and are lucky enough to be supported by Mrs Walker.
Learning Challenge
This half term, our learning challenge is ‘Sowing the seed’ which gives us plenty of opportunity to be hands-on and lots of room for the ‘crafternoons’ that we love so much in Year 3! We will be doing a range of engaging activities from growing our own plants to stewing fruits in the stone age! The information over the page will give you more of an insight as to the things we will be getting up to over the next half term. Please also find an optional homework linked to our topic on our class page.
P.E
During this half term Year 3 will be doing P.E with Mrs Drinkwater on a Monday afternoon. They will be doing dance and gymnastics, which they are very excited about! Could you please make sure kits are available each week. Please can I remind you that children should wear black shorts/joggers, pumps and a white t-shirt preferably with the school logo on it.
Reading
Children are enjoying moving along the ‘Readopoly’ board and wining raffle tickets as they go! Children should try to read as much as they can at home, this is monitored on a weekly basis. It doesn't need to be for long but every little bit helps, so it would be great if you could continue to encourage this. Reading is such a valuable tool for improving their imagination, spelling and writing skills.
Spellings
As always please do not hesitate to pop in at any time, book an appointment via the office or email me to discuss any concerns or questions you might have.
Here's to a great half term!
