Reading

Our reading diaries should be in school every day so they can be checked by Mrs Pascoe, Mrs Talbot or Mrs Thomson, so please feel free to add any comments or concerns. It is important that children are listened to on a daily basis, comments from the listener should be recorded in your child’s diary.

PE

This term the children will take part in P.E sessions on Monday and Thursday, we will be focusing on ball skills and gymnastics this half term. Please could you send your child to school with a full P.E kit each week. Please can I remind you that children should wear black shorts/joggers, pumps and a white t-shirt preferably with the school logo on it.

Swimming

Year 1 will be going swimming in the  Summer Term.

Forest School

Year 1 will be very pleased to know they will be doing forest school in the Summer term. This will take place on Mondays. Children may come into school in their forest school clothes ready to begin after break. Beware they are likely to get a little muddy! In forest school children will be putting all the things we are learning into action, such as creating and using maps, birdwatching, making bird tables/feeders, mini-beast bug hotels and much more!

Homework

We set homework on Education City weekly (on Fridays), children have an updated login on the inside of their reading diaries. Please let me know if you are having any problems logging on. There is also an optional homework linked to our topics, it would be great to see you all having a go at home and bringing things in to share with your peers.
