Welcome to Year 5!
Year 5 is taught by Miss Edwards (Class teacher) and Mrs Tomkins (Teaching Assistant).
Please take a look at our 'Learning in Year 5' section to see a snippet of the activities that we have been completing in class.
Our Learning Challenge
Our overarching big question this half term is: Back Down to Earth! Within this we will be exploring 'What's so special about the USA? and 'Will we ever send another human to the moon?'
Spelling tests will take place on a Friday and new spellings will be given out immediately afterwards.
Each child has a reading book and a reading record and it would be gratefully appreciated if you could take the time to listen to your child read at home. All children should be reading at least 5 times a week at home and it is important that this is signed off in reading records. Reading books, records and spelling books should be brought to school every day and will be checked each Monday. As children show that they are reading, they will move around the Readopoly board and earn themselves raffle tickets and Good Choice Points.
In addition to PE, the children will have the opportunity to perform 10 minutes of exercise each afternoon. They will need a pair of trainers in school at all times.
