Kingstone & Thruxton Primary School

Year 4

Hello and Welcome to Year 4

Year 4 is a class of 31 happy and friendly young people. Miss Bilbrough is the class teacher and through the week we are lucky to be supported by TAs Mrs Morgan and Miss Exley.

We have a lovely bright classroom with lots to see and tell you about. Our reading corner has a 'Starbooks' theme. By reading at home we can earn points on our Starbooks loyalty card. When we earn enough points we can trade them for a hot chocolate!

Our current topic is 'Norman Norms' We are learning all about the Normans in our Topic sessions. In Science we will be looking at digestion. Our writing over the next half term will largely link to these topics.

We love graffiti spelling and have books that we practise in. These go home every day and should be used regularly. Our test scores are always recorded in our graffiti book so people at home can see how we are getting on.

In PE at the moment we are perfecting our rounders and cricket skills. Our PE day varies so it is important that we have our PE kits in school every day. Children are reminded to take them home on a Friday for washing.

We are a friendly class and welcome anyone into our classroom to have a look around or to see what we are learning about. In Autumn term we put on a Christmas afternoon tea for our parents. We made all of the sandwiches and cakes ourselves - it was great fun!

If you have any questions at all or need to get in touch with Miss Bilbrough, please arrange an appointment via the school office, pop in and see her or contact her via email.

Our Camping Residential

We had the most fantastic time on our camping residential. The sun shone and we enjoyed climbing, paddle-boarding and a low ropes challenge.

Posting letters to our Penpals in New Zealand

As part of our Victorians topic we cooked without using electricity.

Our Trip to Blists Hill.

Linked to our Autumn 1 topic of the Victorians we had a fantastic day out at Blists Hill Victorian Town. It was fantastic to be able to see in front of us all that we have been learning about in class.
